Reactive Sculpture and Prints · Lynn Hershman

Lynn Hershman employs digital tools and cinematic metaphors to address surveillance, identity manipulation, and emerging technologies. Her recent works construct alternate realities with ingrained notions of identity, inviting viewer and network-based participation. This exhibition features interactive sculptures and web-based works including SYNTHIA, a networked sculpture inspired by Edison's stock ticker whose behaviors respond in real-time to stock market data, and Agent Ruby 2, an artificial intelligence web agent shaped by user interactions. Hershman's accomplishments include over 200 exhibitions, 53 videotapes, 8 interactive installations, 3 web-based installations, and two feature films.
