Refik Anadol's first solo exhibition with bitforms gallery introduced works combining Google's Artificial Intelligence Quantum Advantage experiments, machine learning, and the aesthetics of probability. The works explore parallel worlds through research data and algorithms, stemming from Quantum Memories (2020), the inaugural large-scale artwork utilizing quantum computing, commissioned by the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. The exhibition featured three bodies of work — Quantum Memories: Nature Studies, Quantum Memories: Probability, and Quantum Memories: Noise — each employing generative adversarial networks and quantum computing to create speculative alternative realities at the intersection of technology and nature.
