A three-part collaborative exhibition series showcasing kinetic sculptures by Swiss installation artist Zimoun, presented across bitforms gallery, Knockdown Center in Queens, and Simons Center for Geometry and Physics at Stony Brook University. Zimoun produces works that evoke control, humor, absence, and nature through highly ordered systems of movement derived from simple, low-tech means. The exhibitions explore vibrational microstructures and mechanical rhythm, creating immersive sound architectures that function like organisms with continuous variations rather than linear narratives. At bitforms: 147 prepared dc-motors, 66 balls, 49 MDF panels, 1 vitrine, 0.3m³ packing paper, 33 cardboard boxes, 1 screen. At Knockdown Center: 250 prepared ac-motors, 325 kg roof laths, 1.8 km rope — the artist's largest US site-specific project to date. At Simons Center: 175 prepared dc-motors, 150 filler wires, 25 cotton balls, 3 screens, 25 cardboard boxes.
