InMotion marks Erwin Redl's inaugural exhibition with bitforms gallery and his first New York solo show in approximately a decade. The Austrian artist, featured in the 2002 Whitney Biennial, is recognized for large-scale immersive light installations. InMotion debuts four groups of minimalist kinetic sculptures studying the influence of ephemeral forces — light, wind, and gravity — on objects. The exhibition shifts from Redl's prior artificial atmospheres to an exploration of time and natural forces, with works employing glass tubes, fans, Ping-Pong balls, spring-loaded rods, lasers, and acrylic plates to create concentrated, intimate pieces that engage viewers through acoustic and visual subtleties.
