Embedded Parables explores how myth and theory exist in various degrees of separation, at times in risk of overlap. Five artists examine the liminal space between these philosophies as a framework to inquire towards the human body, emotion, and the Anthropocene. Through empirical processes, the works in the exhibition result in coalesced mysticism and biology — from Surabhi Saraf's mythical AI entity addressing emotional labor, to Rindon Johnson's VR pastoral examining the commercialized bovine industry, Peter Burr's generative video game depicting urban development as theorized landscape, Addie Wagenknecht's Roomba paintings using cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, and Clement Valla's tapestries translating field observations of rocks and lichens into standardized digital dimensions.
