Curated by Dexter Wimberly, "Distrust That Particular Flavor" highlights new work by a diverse group of artists who are largely concerned with materiality and the extremes of consumer culture. The exhibition explores planned obsolescence and temporality through paintings, sculpture, video, and new media. Referencing William Gibson's writing, the show examines skepticism toward media and entertainment industries while considering "manufactured" consumer choices. Featuring works by Augustus Nazzaro, Asif Mian, Clive Murphy, Coralina Meyer, Cullen Washington Jr., David Shrobe, Heeseop Yoon, Justin Randolph Thompson, Kate Stone, Matt Sears, Shane Hope, and Siebren Versteeg.
